Chris Austria joined the City Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in January 2015.  In 2016, he was promoted to Assistant City Attorney I.  During his time in the City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Austria has handled a variety of issues in the Litigation Division and Transaction Division of the City Attorney’s Office.  In the Litigation Division, Mr. Austria has handled issues concerning the Texas Tort Claims Act, civil service appeals, workers compensation, gambling forfeitures, and code compliance.  Currently, he is assigned to the Transactional Division and handles issues related to the Texas Public Information, fleet and ground transportation,  fire contracts, utilities, on-street parking matters, animal control, minimum building standards, consumer health, and various code compliance matters.

Prior Experience

Mr. Austria worked as an intern with the Dallas County Public Defenders’ Office. His experience also includes an internship with Catholic Charities of Fort Worth and criminal defense with the Bobbitt Law Firm.
