How long have you volunteered with the City of Fort Worth Animal Shelter?

Been volunteering at the shelter since June 2020.

Why did you decide to start volunteering with Fort Worth Animal Shelter?

I love animals and wanted to do my part to help.

What is your favorite volunteer activity to help with and why?

I love walking the dogs. I quickly formed a bond with multiple dogs by simply spending a little time with them.

What motivates you to stay involved?

The love that they receive from volunteers spending time with them and showing them love they may have never known.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering in the “Orange Dot Crew?

Just do it.  Volunteering at the shelter and working with the Orange Dot dogs is so rewarding. You can see the change in a majority of the dogs so quickly and it’s heartwarming when they find their forever home.

What qualities make a good volunteer?

Selflessness, willingness to learn, enthusiasm, wanting to make a difference.

What advice would you give to volunteers who have just started out?

Take your time on getting comfortable and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
