Temporary Food Establishment Permit

A temporary food establishment permit allows food service operations under reduced requirements for not more than 14 consecutive days in conjunction with a single event, promotion or celebration.

A temporary permit is required for:

  • Vending food, beverages or samples of food/drink products (commercial pre-packaged, shelf-stable food products do not need a temporary permit)
  • All outside or off-site food service not permitted for year-round or seasonal operation.

Temporary Event Permit Fees

  • Temporary Event (the first day): $50 per booth
  • Each additional day (max. 13 days): $15 per booth
  • Administrative Fees (if received three days or less before event): $20 per request
  • Special Event Permit (closed to general public - invitation only): $200

Step 2.You will need the following to fill out the form online.

  • Name
  • Description of proposed event or activity
  • Start Event or activity

  • End time
  • Street Address of the event or activity
  • Name of he organization
  • Contact information of responsible party
  • List of foods to be served
  • Places the food is prepared and stored ( only listed food and beverage are authorized.)

Step 3.Read the disclosure and confirm the statement

Temporary food/beverage stands must comply with all Fort Worth requirements, including required sinks, food temperatures, stand construction, etc. All workers handling food must have a Fort Worth Food Handler Certificate. If the above organization is a non-profit entity, there may be an exemption from this requirement by providing the tax exemption form to the Consumer Health Division.

Step 4.All temporary event workers must have a food-handler certification.
