Suzanne Richards, EnVision Center Coordinator, and Katie Combs, Adult Programming Librarian, will discuss the role of entrepreneurship and small business ownership in providing opportunities for low-income residents to become self-sufficient and achieve their goals.

The EnVision Center at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Fort Worth’s Stop Six neighborhood is dedicated to helping individuals overcome barriers, develop job skills and achieve self-sufficiency. The EnVision Center takes a holistic approach to battling poverty by providing tools and resources for individuals to improve their lives, offering small business and entrepreneurship classes in addition to health programs and housing information.

For more than one hundred years the Fort Worth Public Library served as a community gathering place and point of entry for those who are seeking to better themselves or learn something new. With fifteen locations, a full menu of virtual programming, and an extensive collection of business resources, the Library shares the EnVision Center’s goals of supporting small business and entrepreneurship opportunities for the entire community.
