North Texas Area Community Health Centers provide COVID-19 response

As the world adjusts to the coronavirus pandemic, North Texas Area Community Health Centers (NTACHC) have shifted some resources from routine primary care to other areas, such as diagnosing and managing COVID-19.
NTACHC has designated its southeast Fort Worth location – Southeast Community Health Center, 2909 Mitchell Blvd. – to diagnose and manage suspected COVID-19 cases. This allows other locations to be open for routine care and treatment of other illnesses.
While the Southeast location is not a public testing site, medical evaluations and COVID-19 testing are offered for suspected cases that will be done as deemed necessary by providers during an appointment.
New patients must make an appointment and complete a medical assessment before being seen. If a patient is insured, they will pay their co-pay and insurance will be billed for the office visit and the COVID-19 test. If a patient is uninsured, the cost of the COVID-19 test will be included in the office visit fee. Low-income patients may qualify for a sliding scale program, which will reduce the office visit cost.
Counseling services for COVID-19 issues
For those who feel anxious, depressed or have similar feelings, counselors at NTACHC can support patients from the comfort of their home. The clinics offer medical management and counseling for those waiting for COVID-19 diagnoses and for those recovering at home from illness, as well as those caring for someone who is sick.
Counselors can also help those suffering from depression from job loss or other factors relating to coronavirus. Counselors will share ways patients can deal with the daily stresses, anxiety, loneliness and depression that may accompany this crisis. Appointments are conducted via phone or Telehealth with registered patients.
Discounted medical services
Many have suffered the loss of a job and health insurance with this pandemic. NTACHC can help significantly reduce costs not only on medical visits, but also on lab and prescription costs for those who have lost their job or have had a substantial reduction in income.
Services are offered on a sliding scale based on income and family size. Patients will meet with a financial screener before making an appointment to help determine what health care costs will be.
