Meals To Go breakfast and lunch for Fort Worth ISD virtual learners will now be available at 28 convenient curbside sites for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture extended the summer feeding option for the rest of the 2020-21 school year. All campuses will continue to provide free meals to all students, regardless of economic status, for the rest of the school year. This includes breakfast and lunch at all schools and at the 28 designated sites for all virtual students.
Beginning Feb. 8, Fort Worth ISD Child Nutrition Services will move its free Meals To Go distribution to Monday, Wednesday and Friday for children under age 18. This is a change to the current schedule.
Right now, Fort Worth ISD meal distribution sites are serving breakfast and lunch meals on Mondays and Thursdays. With the new schedule, the Thursday distribution will be discontinued and moved to Wednesdays. Additionally, a new Meals To Go meal distribution day will be added on Fridays.
The Friday meal distribution will provide students with meals for Saturday and Sunday consumption. If there is a holiday, the meal pickup will be the next school day.
All students participating in onsite learning may receive meals at no charge at their assigned Fort Worth ISD campus. Likewise, eligible children not participating in onsite learning at a particular campus may continue to pick up free breakfast and lunch meals.
