Whoopee ti yi yo! Two of professional rodeo’s most prestigious awards were handed to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo recently in Las Vegas.

The winner is …

  • The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association honored the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo with the Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year award for 2022. The highly coveted accolade recognizes the tremendous effort put forward by the FWSSR’s volunteers, officers, staff and contractors to create a superior experience for contestants and fans alike. This is the FWSSR’s first time to receive the recognition.
  • The Polaris Remuda Award is given each year to a PRCA rodeo featuring the nation’s best lineup of bucking horses that produce amazing scores for the cowboys talented enough to ride them. FWSSR topped more than 600 other rodeos sanctioned by the PRCA to capture the honor. FWSSR officials, led by rodeo producer Jim Gay, recruited bucking horses from 18 rough stock contractors in seven states and Canada.

Why it matters: “Fort Worth is a rodeo town with a friendly and fun atmosphere for everyone that comes here to compete or play,” said Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes. “To have the membership of the PRCA vote and recognize us affirms our commitment to producing a tremendous rodeo experience for our athletes and fans alike.”
