Water and sewer mains are being replaced in East Fort Worth in an area that is bound by Hightower Street to the north, East Loop 820 South to the east, Highway 287/Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway to the south and Burke Road to the west.

The affected streets in Council District 5 and Council District 11 include the following.

 

Council District 5

Ellington Drive from Plaza Circle to Bunche Drive (water and sewer)

Tallie Road from Lucas Drive to S. Cravens Road (water)

Prothrow Street from Lucas Drive to S. Cravens Road (water)

Easement between Vel Drive and Prothrow Street from S. Cravens Road to 600 feet west (sewer)

Easement west of S. Cravens Road from Tallie Road to 100 feet south (sewer)

 

Council District 11

Wilhelm Street from Burke Road to Quails Lane (water and sewer)

Stark Street from Hightower Street to Greenlee Street (water trench repair)

Burke Road from Wilbarger Street to Wilhelm Street (water and sewer)

 

Landmarks include West Handley Middle School, Martin Luther King Park and Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Maudrie M Walton Elementary School, Tarrant County College Opportunity Center Campus, Dunbar High School and Dunbar Middle School 

Construction will impact the Village Creek, Fairhaven, Historic Carver Heights and Handley neighborhood associations.
