Fort Worth Water is partnering with the city’s Neighborhood Services Department on a Community Development Block Grant project. This project includes extending a water main and sanitary sewer main from the Ramey Avenue/Sheraton Drive intersection south, to just north of Sunshine Drive. There are currently no water or sewer lines on Sheraton Drive.
This project will support a future affordable housing development. Construction includes installing water and sewer mains then installing five sewer and water taps on the west side of Sheraton at 2510, 2512, 2514, 2516 and 2518 Sheraton Drive. These lots are owned by the Fort Worth Housing Finance Corporation and will be used for the development of affordable single-family homes. After the water and sewer taps are installed, Sheraton Drive will be paved with asphalt and curb and gutter and will be added.
The goal of the Infill Housing Program is to increase the availability of affordable homes for very low, low and moderate-income families. An infill home is sold to a qualified applicant with the purpose of making that home – in an established neighborhood - the applicant’s primary residence.
This project is in Council District 5. Construction may impact customers in the Historic Stop Six, Stop 6/Poly Oversight and East Fort Worth Neighborhoods Coalition. Fort Worth Fire Station #3 and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County are to the west of the construction area.
