A vehicle on private property is considered a junk vehicle if it is self-propelled, has remained inoperable for more than 20 consecutive days and

  • does not have lawfully attached to it an unexpired registration sticker,
    or
  • is wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled.

Junk vehicles may be towed away and destroyed after a hearing process. Owners may face fines as high as $500.
