This Fort Worth Water capital improvement project encompasses the replacement of cast iron water mains, as well as the replacement of sewer mains. 

The project area is bound by West Rosedale Street to the north, The Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad to the east, West Myrtle Street and Feliks Gwozdz Place to the south, and 5th Avenue to the west. 

 

 

Cast iron water mains will be replaced in:

  • West Magnolia Avenue
  • 5th Avenue
  • South Henderson Street
  • Washington Avenue
  • Hemphill Street
  • Galveston Avenue
  • East Morphy Street

 

Water Main Replacements

  • West Magnolia Avenue from Oak Grove Street to Hemphill Street
  • West Magnolia Avenue from 5th Avenue to Alston Street
  • 5th Avenue from West Magnolia Avenue to West Oleander Street
  • South Henderson Street from West Oleander Street to West Magnolia Avenue
  • Washington Avenue from West Magnolia Avenue to West Myrtle Street
  • Hemphill Street from West Oleander Street to West Magnolia Avenue
  • Galveston Avenue from West Rosedale Street to West Magnolia Avenue
  • East Magnolia Avenue from South Main Street to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
  • Bryan Avenue from East Magnolia Avenue to East Morphy Street
  • East Morphy Street from South Main Street to Bryan Avenue

 

Sewer Main Replacements

  • Alley between 5th Avenue and South Henderson Street from West Myrtle Street to West Oleander Street
  • Alley between South Henderson Street and South Adams Street from West Magnolia Avenue to West Morphy Street
  • Easement between Washington Avenue and College Avenue from West Morphy Street, then to the north 190 feet
  • Alley between College Avenue and Alston Avenue from West Magnolia Avenue to West Morphy Street

 

The Fort Worth Water Department's cast iron water main initiative was created to reduce the amount of water main breaks. Fort Worth Water management has committed to replacing a minimum of 20 miles of cast iron pipe every year.

 

This Fort Worth Water Capital Project Delivery project is in Fort Worth Council District 9.

Landmarks include John Peter Smith Hospital, Baylor All Saints Medical Center at  Fort Worth, De Zavala Elementary  School, Fire Station Community Center, and Trimble Technical High School. The project will impact the Fairmount neighborhood Association.
