Library System Improvements

Construction of the Sendera Springs Library is officially under way!

Your Fort Worth Public Library is expanding into the far northwest region of Fort Worth with the Sendera Springs LibraryThe City of Fort Worth has entered into a contract with architecture firm HKS. Resident input at community-based meetings informed everything from the most important features and use of the library to the design aesthetic of the building. There are no plans for additional community input meetings at this time.

Site work, including grading piers, retaining walls and detention ponds, began in August in preparation for pouring the slab foundation in mid-November. Paving and structural steel (“going vertical”) will follow in December.

  • Smart coordination in action: The project team is using advanced BIM (Building Information Modeling) to detect and resolve design clashes early, ensuring a smoother build.

  • Community-focused: The team is actively collecting neighborhood feedback and coordinating with City services to ensure the library is well-integrated into the area.

  • Next steps: Furniture, technology and public art installations are already in the planning stages. This will be a space that’s both functional and inspiring.
