Celebrate Italian-American Heritage Month by creating your own artwork using the sgraffito technique, scratching the surface to reveal the magical colors hidden below!
Originating in the Middle East on pottery, sgraffito was popularized in Italy during the Renaissance in the 15th and 16th centuries. The technique, whose name means “to scratch” in Italian, was used to decorate the exteriors of buildings and palaces.
As part of the cultural fiber of Fort Worth, your library celebrates the arts in all forms. We designed this arts program for families with children of all ages.
