Fun facts

Nathan Barrett’s 1888 design for the plat of North Fort Worth included a 0.44 acre triangular tract of land on the north side of 12th Street bordering Grand Avenue. On November 15, 1911, the park board voted to name the tract “Arneson Park” in honor of the donor, A. Arneson.

Despite its small size, the recreation department constructed a tennis court in the park sometime after 1930 which remained until 1952, when the court was removed so that the park could be re-developed as a children’s playground.
