The newest Fort Worth Fire Department station, No. 45, is now operational.

Located at 1901 Quail Grove Drive in far north Fort Worth, Station 45 is a single-engine company with four firefighters per shift. Twelve firefighters total will be housed at the station, with four assigned to each of the three rotating 24-hour shifts.

In their first cycle of three full shifts of operations, the crews responded to 35 calls, including a working residential structure fire.

The addition of Station 45 will improve response times for emergency personnel across far north Fort Worth, which has seen substantial growth over the last 10 years.

“We’re very excited that Station 45 is up and running. As seen by the first three shifts, it will be a busy station,” Fire Chief James Davis said. “We are looking forward to serving the residents, visitors and business owners in this part of Fort Worth. And we really appreciate the support we’ve received to make this station possible.”

The station will hold its grand opening in the coming weeks. The event will be open to the public. Watch City News for details.
