Volunteer to clean up the Trinity after record rains

Volunteer to help clear litter and debris that has dramatically impacted waterways after heavy rainfall and flooding earlier this week.

Trinity River Cleanup starts Thursday, Aug. 25, and several days of cleanups will follow.

No registration is needed, and volunteers are encouraged to come and go – help for 30 minutes or all day. All cleanup supplies will be provided onsite. Park at the Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St.

This week’s cleanup efforts are focusing on the Trinity River and its banks. City staff is still evaluating Lake Worth and Lake Arlington; cleanup plans are being developed for those locations.

Here is the Trinity River cleanup schedule for the remainder of the week:

  • Thursday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 26, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 27, 8-11 a.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 28, 8-11 a.m.

Meet at Panther Island Parking Lot (off Purcey St.).
