The February 2021 ice storm caused power failures at the Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant and the Westside Water Treatment Plant and also impacted the North Holly and South Holly Water Treatment plants. Some high service pump stations also had power and freezing issues.
Senate Bill 3 requires that the City of Fort Worth submit an emergency preparedness plan to the state of Texas by March 1, 2022.
The projects included in this part of the plan include creating an enclosure –pre-fabricated metal buildings - for the three high service pump stations and associated piping (two pumps) at Eagle Mountain.
The Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant is located in Council District 2 and impacts the Northwest Fort Worth neighborhood alliance.
