Do-it-Yourself craft projects for teens

Flex your creative muscles to create a do-it-yourself project! This program involves tools and crafting techniques designed for 6-12th graders.

 

June 12: Creepy Crawly Wonders - Don’t bug out about bugs! They are amazing! Buzz on in and join us as we test our knowledge of insects, learn about how vital they are, and create a gilded insect taxidermy keepsake.

July 10: Kandinsky the Artist and His Circles - Wassily Kandinsky, one of the pioneers of abstract modernism, repeatedly featured circles in his paintings. Let’s get to know the artist, discuss why he loved circles, and create our own concentric circle rock paintings.

August 14: Skincare Through the Ages - Through the centuries, humans have tried different products and methods to enhance their appearance and take care of their skin. Some were healthy; others were toxic! Let’s learn about past beauty regimens and then make our own DIY sugar scrub.
