Spotlight: Casa de Esperanza

The City of Fort Worth utilizes innovation and partnerships to address homelessness in the city.

One such project is Casa de Esperanza.

Casa de Esperanza, Fort Worth, TX’s largest permanent supportive housing development, opened in December of 2020 with the support of Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS – the City’s public housing authority, managing a wide variety of housing programs);

development partner Ojala Partners, LP of Dallas; the City of Fort Worth; and a coalition of agencies that care for people who are homeless.

Mayor Mattie Parker discusses issues surrounding homelessness in Fort Worth with Tara Perez, who leads the city’s Directions Home program, and Lauren King, who leads the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, including the HB 1925 "camping ban," permanent supportive housing projects, Fort Worth Police Department's HOPE team and the path to ending chronic homelessness.
