Homeless Strategies

Homeless Strategies, formerly called Directions Home, funds housing services and resources for people experiencing homelessness in Fort Worth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee approximately $6.3 million in City and State funds to reduce homelessness and keep clients housed
  • Work with community partners to align resources and processes to most effectively reduce homelessness
  • Facilitate development of permanent supportive housing units to reduce chronic homelessness

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Water and snacks served

Union Gospel Mission, 1321 E. Lancaster Ave.

  • Every day
  • 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Lunch and dinner served
  • Pets allowed if willing to be kenneled (kennels provided)
  • Belonging storage space available

Additional Daytime Resources

True Worth Place, 1513 E. Presidio St.

  • Every day
  • 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Presbyterian Night Shelter

  • Early check-in for overnight bed at 12 p.m. on days of 100 degrees or higher
