This large City project is comprehensive and involves major improvements along Trinity Boulevard.

Phase 1 - from Loop 820 to Salado Trail.

This section of roadway will be reconstructed as a four-lane, divided concrete arterial. This project includes a landscaped median, multi-use trails on each side of the roadway and drainage system improvements.

A roundabout will be constructed at the entrance to the Trinity Lakes Development and a traffic signal will be reconstructed at the Salado Trail intersection. After project completion, Trinity Boulevard will no longer be in a floodplain.

Phase 2 - from Salado Trail to Thames Trail.

A four-lane, divided concrete arterial is planned for this section of Trinity Boulevard. A landscaped median, multi-use trails on each side of the road, drainage improvements and water and sewer lines will be constructed. 

This project is in Council District 5.

April 2024 Project Update 

  • Phase 1:  Grading up the final portions on the south side and then paving will begin again.
  • Phase 2: The contractor has been selected and construction would start late summer 2024.

  • TxDOT, Trinity Railway Express and private development also have construction in the area. It is advised to expect delays if no other route is available.
