Dedicated City staff members who are on hand to provide comprehensive assistance with your building permit application and to clarify any inquiries you may have about permit allowances.

They are equipped to thoroughly review your permit applications and architectural plans, guiding you through the necessary requirements still needed for your project.

Their expertise allows them to answer your questions in detail, ensuring that you feel confident and well-informed as you navigate the permitting process and move forward with your project.

Do I Qualify to Use This Service?

**Commercial Structures**

Remodel existing tenant space under 6,000 sq. feet. 

  • I already have a Certificate of Occupancy for this business, I am just making changes to walls or mechanical, electrical or plumbing systems.
  • Game rooms, smoke shops, sexually oriented businesses, and hazardous occupancies will not qualify.

Moving into new tenant space under 6,000 sq. feet, no change of use and no remodeling - I just need a CO.

  • I need to apply for an Occupancy Existing Ordinance permit (PO). 
  • Game rooms, smoke shops, sexually oriented businesses, and hazardous occupancies will not qualify.

Moving into new tenant space under 6,000 sq. feet, with a change of use.

  • I need to apply for an Occupancy Change of Use permit (PO).
  • Game rooms, smoke shops, sexually oriented businesses, and hazardous occupancies will not qualify.

**Residential Structures**

Residential ACCESSORY permit types that qualify to use the Walk-In Permit Team are:

  • sheds
  • patio covers
  • fences
  • pools

Residential REMODEL permit types that qualify to use the Walk-In Permit Team are:

  • fire repair
  • re-roofing (that includes replacement of decking material)
  • lathing boards
  • sheathing boards
  • rafters
  • ridge boards
    • Shingle work does not require a permit
