About the Police Chief

Chief Neil Noakes has been a Fort Worth Police officer for more than 20 years.  As a parent and Library supporter, Chief Noakes is an experienced story time reader.

He enjoys working with Fort Worth youth in programs like Operation Program, Read2Win, All Pro Dad and the City of Fort Worth Education Initiative.

He enjoys visiting area schools to meet students and attending community events to meet residents. Chief Noakes is a life-long learner who has studied criminal justice and earned degrees from Tarleton State University and Texas Christian University.

At story time with Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis, you'll enjoy stories about being a firefighter, a community helper and rhyming rescues.  We'll have special crafts, activities and giveaways for you too! Bring your neighbor, friend or family to meet Chief Davis.

About the Fire Chief

Chief Jim Davis joined the Fort Worth Fire Department in 2018 after serving 30 years in Columbus, Ohio.  As a parent and Library supporter, Chief Davis is an experienced story time reader.

He enjoys being involved in the community and his favorite question to ask is "why not?" He likes exploring Fort Worth, reading and sports. Chief Davis is a life-long learner who has nursing, masters and doctorate degrees.  

When they aren't busy helping our residents, Chief Davis likes to bring Fort Worth firefighters with him to the Library to show our neighbors their fire engines and fire fighting equipment.
