Requests in person or by mail

To request deferred disposition (probation) or to take a driving safety course by mail, submit the following documents:

  • Your plea of guilty or no contest, along with the choice of driving safety course or deferred disposition (probation) must be selected on the back of your citation. If you have lost your citation, you can enter your plea and make your request in writing.
  • A copy of your valid Texas Driver License.
  • A copy of your proof of current personal liability insurance or valid evidence of financial responsibility.
  • Do not send any money when making your request. Once approved, you will be sent a notice from the Municipal Court with specific instructions on how to proceed and how much to pay.

If requesting in person, be prepared to submit the following documents and cost:

  • Your plea of guilty or no contest selected along with the option of Driving Safety Course or deferred disposition (probation) selected on the back of your citation.
  • Your valid Texas Driver License
  • Your proof of current personal liability insurance or valid evidence of financial responsibility.
