The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) plays a vital role in providing specialized knowledge and guidance to inform the development of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of the TAC is to bring together experts from various fields, including urban planning, transportation, environmental sustainability, economic development, and social services, among others. These experts can offer valuable insights to ensure that planning decisions are well-informed, technically sound, and aligned with best practices in their respective fields.

Role & Responsibilities

The Technical Advisory Committee will:

  • Provide expertise and technical analysis on key issues related to land use, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborate with fellow committee members and City staff to evaluate proposed goals, objectives, policies, strategies, and implementation measures.
  • Review and assess the technical feasibility, impact, and implications of proposed planning initiatives.
  • Offer recommendations to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the Comprehensive Plan.
  • Serve as liaisons between industry and advocacy groups and the project team, ensuring that the interests and concerns of stakeholders are represented and addressed.

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a diverse group of passionate individuals nominated by City Council to represent all districts of Fort Worth. The CAC has an important role advocating for the interests of the community throughout the development of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan. 

Role & Responsibilities:

The Community Advisory Committee will:

  • Provide valuable input and feedback on key issues facing our community.
  • Collaborate with fellow residents, city officials, and experts to develop innovative solutions.
  • Shape policies and strategies that reflect the diverse needs and priorities of our community.
  • Share information about the 2050 Comprehensive Plan with their neighborhood and community networks and encourage participation.
  • Relay information from their neighborhoods and networks back to the Community Advisory Committee and the project team.
