Starting this week, Fort Worth’s garbage, recycling and yard waste collections will operate on new pickup schedules based on new collection routes.

Not all residents will be affected. Residents who will be affected by the new schedule were mailed a postcard with a notice of service change and their new collection day.

The changes are being made to balance out the routes so that residential customers will have fewer missed collections and routes will be completed on time.

“Improved customer service is always our goal,” said Brandon Bennett, Code Compliance director. “We listened to the feedback we received from our customers and our collection teams. We hope that these changes will allow us to continue to meet our service goals and cut down on late or missed collections.”

Remember that all garbage, recycling and yard waste must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the morning of the collection day. Collection times vary and collection can occur anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

To see if your collection day has changed, visit the Garbage & Recycling website.
