The Fort Worth City Cable Channel (Charter/Spectrum channel 190) will be offline for a few weeks starting March 11 while facilities connections are being rerouted. During the outage, you can watch the City Council Meetings and other City meetings on the City’s YouTube Channel.
Design work is underway to reroute an existing siphon - exposed and close to failure – on a sewer main located north of the TRE railroad line, just west of Hwy. 360.
A siphon is used to dip under an obstruction and connect to the sewer collection system on either side. Water is pulled by suction from the downstream end. Atmospheric pressure on the water at the elevated (higher) end of the siphon keeps the flow continuing.
The existing sanitary sewer main runs from Trinity Boulevard – east of the Days Inn & Suites Euless DFW Airport South and west of Hwy. 360, down to just northwest of the West Fork Trinity River and the City of Arlington. An existing part of the sewer main will be abandoned and relocated - to the west of the current line - and east of Tristan Lane at Plank Street.
This capital improvement project is in Council District 5.
