Water & Sanitary Sewer Imrpovements

The Westside Water Treatment Plate Settler Expansion Project  will be the second expansion since 2012, when the plant was put into service. At that time the plant could treat 12 million gallons of water a day.

Westside was expanded to 15 million gallons a day, and will now expand its capacity to 18 million gallons with this project.

The plate settler is used to remove suspended particles from the water by what is called gravity settling. Plate settlers can be used in treatment plants, like Westside, that need to increase capacity to handle future growth.

Also included in this project are the addition of one filter and one membrane feed pump as well as the replacement of the raw water flow meter and control valve.

The treatment plant is in Fort Worth Council District 3.
