What type of schools are allowed?
All schools within Fort Worth city limits including public, private, homeschool programs, and specialty schools (i.e. charter, magnet, montessori, etc.) can participate.
School Green Teams are open to all ages, including college/university students.
Is there a cost to register a School Green Team?
No. There is no cost to be a part of this program.
What is the deadline to sign up?
You can register your team at any time of the year. Both first-time and returning School Green Team coordinators must register each year. This helps to maintain accurate contact information and updated participation. Renewal reminders are sent out each year in August.
I’m a student, can I organize a School Green Team?
Students in grades K-12th must have a coordinator over 18 years of age. School Green Teams are most frequently coordinated and registered by a school faculty or staff member. In some cases, parents/guardians can serve as School Green Team coordinators. College/university teams can be student-led.
How many students are required to create a School Green Team?
All teams must have a coordinator over 18 years of age and at least one student to be considered a School Green Team.
What if our time is extremely limited?
The activities are very flexible and adaptable. Select the activities that fits your team's schedule.
How are School Green Team activities tracked?
KFWB tracks all activities submitted by the School Green Team coordinator through the online activity report form.
What is the green team of the year?
At the end of the school year, the team with the most points is recognized as the KFWB School Green Team of the Year. The winning team will receive a tree planting at their school, a certificate of achievement, and a KFWB prize pack.
