The Code Rangers program fosters healthier neighborhoods by empowering communities and encouraging active participation. Through strong partnerships between residents’ organizations and the Code Compliance Department, the program helps maintain clean, safe, and vibrant neighborhoods.
Trained Code Rangers volunteers report suspected code violations, helping the City respond proactively. In turn, the City sends courtesy letters to property owners and residents to inform them of potential issues, promoting voluntary compliance and neighborhood pride.
Program goals:
- Encourage residents and property owners to maintain their homes and yards in order to preserve property values and discourage crime.
- Allow Code Enforcement Officers the opportunity to devote more time to chronic, dangerous or complicated issues affecting neighborhoods.
- Create a greater sense of community in each neighborhood by encouraging cooperation and increasing neighborhood pride.
- Make Fort Worth a cleaner, safer and more attractive place for all residents.
