Representatives from the Financial Planning Association - DFW will provide information on various aspects of financial planning to save for major life events, from retirement and how to save for college to how to save for a home purchase. Each presentation is free and will be conducted via Zoom, followed by a Q&A session.

What do I need to know about Required Minimum Distributions?

Learn about all of the new laws passed concerning Required Minimum Distribution from IRA’s and other retirement accounts. We will discuss the current rules and how they apply and some strategies that can help manage RMDs.

Wes has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Planning from the University of North Texas. Wes is a Certified Financial Planning Professional™. He is an active member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisers (NAPFA), XY Planning Network (XYPN) and a member DFW chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

He enjoys the outdoors, participating in backpacking, hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping. He likes to cook, garden and read. He has a passion for old movies and is a Turner Classic Movie fan. Wes says, “I love good story telling, that’s what I look for in old movies."  Expect Wes to listen to your story and dreams and then work in a sincere manner to help you reach those dreams.

How to Save for College

Join us to discuss all things about Saving for College! We will talk about financial aid, tax-advantaged savings plans and the cost of a college education. We will cover the two different types of 529 accounts, Coverdell Education Savings accounts and Series EE and I Bonds. The presentation will also show you how to do a quick calculation to estimate future education costs.

She holds degrees from Ursinus College and has done graduate work at Temple Medical School and the University of North Texas.
