Pachisi - Golden Triangle

pachisi-game

Are you ready to explore an ancient Indian board game?

Join us at the Fort Worth Public Library to learn how to play the game Pachisi. A cross and circle board game, it originated in Ancient India and has inspired other games all around the world, including the popular American board game “Sorry!”

Bring a friend and join other adults to learn how to play this unique game as we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month.  We'll even have a printable version of the game for you to take home and share what you've learned.

Historians believe that Pachisi originated in India around the 4th century A.D. It headed west in the 1860s, first traveling to England (which had taken over rule of India from the British East India Company in 1858) and then further into Europe.  Coming to American between 1867 and 1870, this game is known as Parcheesi.

As a destination for discovery, your Fort Worth Public Library is a location for learners of any age. We designed this program for adults.
