Due to rising water levels, Lake Worth will close today. The water level has reached the threshold of 595.5 feet and will close to all visitors including all boat ramps. Existing water and sewer mains will be replaced in an area bound by Terminal Road to the north, Deen Road and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway North Yard to the east, NE 36th Street to the south and Neches Street to the west.
Cast iron water mains that date back to the 1950s and 1960s will be removed in Neches Street, Runnels Street and Deen Road.

This project is in Fort Worth Council District 2. Construction will impact the Diamond Hill-Jarvis neighborhood association and the Inter-District 2 Alliance.
The area is primarily residential with Cesar Chavez Primary School on the southeast end. This capital improvement project is east of MH Moore Elementary School and WA Meacham Middle School.
