The Environmental Services Department of the City of Fort Worth is responsible for regulating, permitting, and inspecting On-Site Sewage Facilities (OSSF), also known as on-site sewage disposal systems. These systems are designed to treat and dispose of sewage on the same property where the wastewater is generated, specifically in areas that lack access to public sewage infrastructure. This oversight applies to residential properties, including single-family homes and multi-family dwellings, as well as non-residential properties, such as businesses and public facilities. The department ensures that OSSF’s comply with state and local health and safety standards, thereby protecting the environment and public health.
Please contact the Consumer Health Office at 817-392-7255 with any questions regarding On-Site Sewage Facilities.
