Payment options

You can pay your City of Fort Worth utility bill in a number of ways. Credit card, debit card and check payments are accepted online, by phone or in person. In-person payments can be made at the water customer service location or at any Fidelity Express location as outlined below.

 

 

Online

View

Customers can view or pay their utility bill online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Accepted payment methods are:

  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express 
  • electronic check payment
  • debit card payment (debit card must have Visa or MasterCard logo).

Register

  • To register your account, you need your account number. This information is on your billing statement or you can obtain it by calling 817-392-4477.
  • Once registered customers can choose to stop receiving paper bills, set up automatic recurring monthly payments and receive text or email notification when a new bill is available.

 When entering your account number, do not use the leading zeros in the number. For example, 000012345-000054321 should be entered as 12345-54321.

  • You may also use the “one-time payment” option online at any time without registering your account.
  • You need your account number (before and after the dash) to use this option.

Customers can conveniently pay their utility bill by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using the automated system. Accepted payments options are:

  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express
  • debit card payment (debit card must have the Visa or MasterCard logo)

  • Send payment using the return envelope that came with your bill or mail to:

Fidelity Express locations

Fidelity Express locations are the only authorized sites to accept City of Fort Worth utility bill payments. Using unauthorized locations could result in late payment charges or service disruptions because funds are not sent to the water utility in a timely manner. 

  • Bring both portions of your current bill to any participating Fidelity Express location, usually grocery and convenience stores.
  • You can use Fidelity Express locations in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, Johnson and Dallas counties.
  • Only cash payments are accepted, and a processing fee is charged by the location. The amount of the processing fee varies by location. 
  • The payment will post to your account the next business day.

Drop box:

  • 24-hour payment drop box is located on the south side of the Fort Worth City Hall Annex, 908 Monroe Street.
  • Pay only with check or money order to ensure proper credit.
  • Do not pay with cash.

Auto pay

There are two ways to automatically pay your bill each month.

 1. Online

You can register an online account and set up automatic payments on a credit or debit card or from your checking or savings account.

  •  The checking or savings account must allow ACH payments.
  • Automatic payments are assessed on the bill's due date each month.
  • You can change this option at anytime.

 

 2. Bank Draft Authorization

  • Complete a Bank Draft Authorization Form. Contact Customer Service at 817-392-4477 or click Bank Draft Authorization FormBank Draft Authorization Form(PDF, 148KB) to access a printable form.
  • Return the signed form along with a voided check to:

  • Payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the bill's due date each month.
