Educator Library Card

This card helps teachers get books and classroom materials in many subjects and reading levels.

If a school district has a campus inside Fort Worth city limits, all staff in that district can get an Educator Card. Library staff can help check if someone qualifies and explain when the card will expire


Eligibility

This special card is for educators who teach in:

  • Public school districts
  • Private schools
  • Charter schools
  • Homeschools

Application

You can sign up for an Educator Card in person or online.

Visit any Fort Worth Public Library location or email digitallibrary@fortworthlibrary.org for help. You will need to show documents to prove you qualify.

 

For School or ISD Teachers:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Proof that you are a current teacher, such as:
    • A school ID
    • A school district pay stub
    • A letter from your school administrator

The card expires every year on June 30 and can be renewed.

 

For Homeschool Educators:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Proof that you are homeschooling a child, such as:
    • Homeschool association papers
    • The child’s birth certificate
    • A Texas ID card
    • A medical insurance card

The card also expires on June 30 each year and can be renewed.
It will be canceled after your child’s high school graduation year.

Usage

What You Can Do with an Educator Card

  • Borrow up to 100 items at a time for 42 days
    (books, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, and magazines)
  • Place up to 25 holds
  • No late fines for overdue items
  • You must pay for any items that are lost or damaged
