Cantrell Sansom Road will be widened between Mark IV Parkway and the future IH-35W southbound frontage road.

Widening will make way for the addition of two westbound and two eastbound lanes.

 

This project is located in Council District 2.

 

April 2026 Project Update

  • The contractor has begun construction from Old Denton to the IH35W frontage road. The contractor will install the storm drain through early April, then begin grading and paving. This phase will last from March to June 2026.
  • The contractor will also install a storm drain from Mark IV Parkway to Old Denton Road. This section of road will stay open to traffic while the storm drain is installed. This section will remain open to traffic until paving is complete from Old Denton to the IH35W frontage road, expected in June 2026.
  • Contractor to close Old Denton Road at Cantrell Sansom Road.  Detours will be set up to use Mark IV Parkway and IH35W Southbound Frontage Road.  Please utilize all detours and avoid the construction zone.  Contractor expects to be opening pavement in all directions by September 2026.
