Janira is a dedicated and dynamic bilingual professional with over 15 years of experience in communications, community engagement, education, customer service, and municipal government. For the past few years, she has served the City of Fort Worth, where she has continued to build a career rooted in service and civic engagement.
Janira specializes in developing inclusive communication strategies, strengthening neighborhood and organizational partnerships, and fostering meaningful community involvement. As a former educator, she brings a unique and thoughtful perspective to her work, using communication as a powerful tool to empower underrepresented voices and promote education, access, and transformation within the community.
A native of Puerto Rico, Janira holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family.

Julie brings a deep love for community and over a decade of leadership experience to her work in community engagement. She has led public-facing projects across both municipal government and the private sector, always with a focus on making people feel seen, heard, and connected. Her approach is grounded in relationship-building, creative problem-solving, and a genuine desire to improve the everyday lives of residents.
Before entering public service in 2015, Julie built a 20-year career in retail management, hospitality, and corporate events—leading teams, managing logistics, and ensuring exceptional client experiences. She also ran a successful photography business, an experience that sharpened her eye for detail and deepened her commitment to capturing meaningful moments. Across every role, her focus has remained the same: people first.
A proud Fort Worth resident for more than 20 years, Julie is passionate about inclusive, community-centered growth. Inspired by the simple lessons of kindness and connection she learned from Mister Rogers as a child, she believes being a good neighbor is the first step in building stronger communities.

Olga brings a wealth of experience to her roles as an advocate, presenter, educator, and volunteer, having effectively engaged with many diverse groups within the community. Hailing from the Northside area, she is a Fort Worth native, affording her an intimate understanding of local dynamics and needs.
As a certified Texas Educator and Certified Community Health Worker, Olga’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, complemented by a master’s degree in public administration. Her academic achievements not only underscore her commitment to continuous learning but also equip her with a multifaceted skill set to address complex challenges facing diverse communities.
Through her combined professional expertise and deep-rooted community ties, Olga exemplifies a dedicated leader poised to make meaningful contributions for the betterment of the City of Fort Worth and its residents.

Tracy has been working for the City of Fort Worth for 17 years and has over 30 years of experience in working with Fort Worth neighborhoods, community stakeholders, faith-based organizations, schools, and non-profits. Tracy brings a wealth of experience in community engagement, capacity building, and community mobilization.
He began his career working with the Tarrant County Public Health Department as an Epidemiology Specialist where he educated residents about the transmission of communicable diseases (including HIV/AIDS). During his tenure at the health department, he organized several community town halls focusing on access to healthcare and reducing/eliminating barriers to treatment.
He has also served as the Director of Minority Outreach for AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County where he developed focus groups, need assessments, and advocated for people living with HIV/AIDS.
In his spare time, Tracy enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

With a professional background heavy in social services, corrections, and communication, Shureka joined the Community Engagement team with a versatile skill set. Service and education were principles instilled in her at a very early age and eventually influenced her decision to work with several high-risk populations over the years, including mentoring opportunities with youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Shureka prides herself in having the ability to develop genuine relationships with those she encounters, understanding the true importance of effective communication and human relationships. With a vibrant and outgoing personality, Shureka has always enjoyed connecting with new people. In fact, her warm and welcoming demeanor tends to draw people in. As someone who feels very strongly about mental health, social justice, and community involvement, Shureka makes conscious efforts to uplift, encourage, and enlighten those she encounters.

Prior to joining the Communications & Public Engagement Dept, Kenneth spent over five years working as an education naturalist at the Fort Worth Nature Center, leading environmental education programs, public engagement efforts, and conservation initiatives. This background has shaped a deep commitment to sustainability, equity, and building vibrant communities.
Kenneth earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Sustainability, and Environmental Science from Tarleton State University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Their academic and professional experiences merge environmental stewardship with public service and policy, bringing a well-rounded perspective to their work in community engagement.
Driven by a passion for creating inclusive, engaged, and resilient communities, Kenneth brings a unique blend of environmental awareness, public administration expertise, and grassroots organizing to their work in Fort Worth.
