Texas Young Professionals Program

Texas Young Professionals Program Fort Worth

TYP Fort Worth is a unique and pretty laid-back Cowtown networking group. We try to create an environment where friendships can be nurtured, but our goal is to see new business connections created.

We have monthly networking mixers at the hot spots in Fort Worth and quarterly luncheons. There is no fee to attend our monthly networking mixers, but we do ask that you register.

Follow us on Facebook to keep up with the Fort Worth Chapter: https://www.facebook.com/TypFortWorth/

Please email typfortworth@gmail.com for more information. We hope to see you at an event soon!

Leaders Evolving And Planning Success (LEAPS)

LEAPS Program

LEAPS stands for Leaders Evolving And Planning Success. The Human Resources Department is offering this opportunity for today’s leaders to expand their knowledge about the organization.

The LEAPS Program is a five-month program (1 day per week) where participants will be assigned to work outside their immediate work area. Participants will also complete leadership specific content through Fort Worth Employee University.

Participants will contribute to projects from their assigned departments while also expected to provide feedback about this new program. Once participants complete the five-month program they will be made available to answer questions from future participants. Balancing current job responsibilities with the expectations of the program will be key to an individual successfully completing the program.

Employees that are interested in participating will go through a review and selection process. For anyone that is interested, please email the HR Business Partners at: zz_HRD_HRBP@fortworthtexas.gov

Note that the application process for 2023 has ended. Information on 2024 application process will be updated here soon.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion Department

The City of Fort Worth’s Diversity and Inclusion Department promotes the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access as they apply to the City's employee and labor relations, its provision of municipal services and capital investments, and the quality of life that all Fort Worth residents experience.  The department fulfills this mission by enforcing civil rights laws as they pertain to fair housing, fair employment, and equal access to public accommodations; by raising public awareness of Fort Worth's diverse cultures and their contributions to the community's social and economic vitality; by fostering harmonious human relations among Fort Worth residents; and by coordinating efforts to eliminate racial, ethnic, and gender disparities in criminal justice, economic development, education, governance, health, housing, and transportation as identified in the 2018 final report of the Task Force on Race and Culture.

To help achieve these goals, the department provides staff support to the city council-appointed Human Relations Commission (HRC), the Mayor’s Committee on Persons with Disabilities and the Business Equity Advisory Board, as well as an employee diversity and inclusion committee. Additionally, the Civil Rights Enforcement Assistant Director also serves as the city’s liaison to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
