Court Payment Options by Case
The Fort Worth Municipal Court offers several convenient options for paying your citation, whether in real-time or at a local retail store outside of downtown.
To pay your Boot Tow or Parking citation directly:
Do Not Pay by Phone to remove Boot from vehicle, as Pay by Phone requires 24-48 hours processing.
To pay your Traffic/Non-Traffic citation online OR with cash at a retail store:

VanillaDirect Pay
Fort Worth Municipal Court has launched VanillaDirect Pay, a simple way to skip the courthouse and pay a citation with cash at local retailers. Residents can make fast, easy and secure payments at CVS, Walgreens, 7-Eleven and more. No credit or debit card is needed – just cash and a barcode.

How VanillaDirect Pay works
- Receive a barcode: Residents will receive a barcode (digital or printed) through the court’s payment portal.
- Visit a participating retailer: They can take the barcode to any CVS, Walgreens, Family Dollar or 7-Eleven.
- Make the payment: At checkout, the cashier scans the barcode, confirms the total and adds a $1.50 convenience fee.
- Complete the transaction: Residents approve the amount, pay in cash and receive a receipt as proof of payment.
Payment Methods
Fines may be paid using cash; VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express; personal checks (no temporary checks); money order, or cashier’s check. Make your checks and money orders payable to the City of Fort Worth. A $25 service fee will be assessed on returned checks.
Should you have a change of address, you must notify the court in writing.
Extended or Late Payments
Only a Municipal Court Judge can set the terms of an ordered payment extension.
You must appear in person to apply for a payment extension; applications received by mail will not be accepted. Complete the extension application(PDF, 116KB) and bring it and all supporting documentation to the A.D. Marshall Public Safety & Courts Building. All documentation must be verified by the Collections & Enforcement Unit before you will be scheduled to see a judge.
New--A mandatory state fee of $15 (effective 1/1/2020) will be added if any part of the fine is paid more than 30 days after the judgment has been entered.
Late payments sent by mail will be accepted and posted, and you will be notified at the address on the ticket if there are additional fines. To update your address with the Municipal Court, call 817-392-6700.
