Camp Leader

Camp Leader - up to $15.50/hr

We are looking for enthusiastic Camp Leaders who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while encouraging kids to stay safe, physically active and intellectually engaged while having fun.

Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation are Summer Day Camp programs located at 19 community centers and four schools throughout the City of Fort Worth. 

 The Camp Leader job responsibilities include:

  • Supervise children in the following summer day camp activities: recreation and educational programs, structured inside and outside activities and events, arts and crafts, games, youth sports and other recreational events. 
  • The qualified candidate must demonstrate knowledge of arts, crafts, games, and a variety of sports. 
  • Develop lesson plans, procedures and goals.
  • Supervise activities in aquatic environments. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be minimum of 16 years of age by May 1, 2022.
  • Up to one (1) year of experience (including volunteer, internship, observation through college course work) with children 5-13 years old leading activities in a recreational and/or educational environment.

Literacy Support Specialist

Literacy Support Specialists - $25/hr

  • High School Diploma or GED and six (6) months teaching experience in specialty area (reading instruction, early learning, elementary education.)
  • Strong literacy instruction background.
  • Experience with younger elementary students (K-2nd); experience with older elementary students is beneficial.
  • Familiar with Lexia Core5 Reading®
  • Willingness to work in other areas of the program.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative manner with students, parents, program staff, and fellow Literacy Support Specialists.
  • This is a seasonal positions with no benefits.

  • Camp runs 9 weeks and is offered between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

  • This position is for up to 19 hours per week.

  • Must commit to working the entire 9 week program.

  • Attendance at orientation is required and will be held one week prior to camp.
