Project Update
Both development teams have received feedback from the RFP process and have been asked to come back with updated proposals by mid-April. These updated proposals should satisfy the City’s published selection criteria and should reflect meaningful consultation with Community Arts Center tenants as well as with leaders of other arts organizations and cultural institutions. The final selection will be made after reviewing these proposals, and a recommendation will then be taken to the City Council for consideration.
Public Meeting
On October 11, the City of Fort Worth held a public meeting on the redevelopment of 1300 Gendy. During the meeting, the two finalists selected from the submitted proposals were given time to present their preliminary ideas. These proposals were in response to the RFP(PDF, 2MB). The evaluation criteria being used for selection is located in section 16.2 on pages 12 – 14.

The presentation slides are also available for review(PDF, 20MB). The slides represent the proposers’ preliminary proposal, which may be revised prior to their interviews with the evaluation panel. Once a final proposal is selected, it will be subject to negotiation between the selected vendor and the City.
Timeline
June 13: City Council adopted a resolution accepting the final report of the task force and authorizing the city manager to proceed in implementing its recommendations.
June 21: Staff issued a request for proposals to redevelop 1300 Gendy St.
Sept. 14: Initial proposals are due.
October 11: The City of Fort Worth invites interested residents to attend a public meeting about 1300 Gendy Street, where invited development firms will present their preliminary proposals to redevelop the City-owned property. The development firms will be selected by an evaluation panel consisting of City department heads and civic leaders.
October 16: Last day to submit public online comment or email comment form by 4p.m.
