Street & Transportation Improvements

Cromwell Marine Creek Road will be widened to a four-lane divided road. 

The project scope includes:

  • Right-of-way acquisition
  • Drainage improvements
  • Pedestrian lanes
  • Street lights
  • New bridge over Marine Creek
  • Modifications to Marine Creek Parkway roundabout
  • Signalized intersections at Bob Hanger/Huffines Boulevard, Bowman Roberts Road, and Crystal Lake Drive

 

This project is in Council Districts 2 and 7.

 

September 2026 Project Update

AREA 1 (Boat club Rd. to Huffines/Bob Hanger Rd.): 

All travel lane pavement has been completed. The work remaining before opening the lanes:

  • Striping of lanes, signage and street illumination
  • Starting September 8 week: Traffic signal installation at the intersections of Boat Club Road, Bowman Roberts and Bob Hanger/Huffines

AREA 2 (Huffines/Bob Hanger St. to Marine Creek): 

Sundt has completed all westbound pavement between Huffines/Bob Hanger and the Marine Creek bridge. Remaining

work to be completed:

  • Huffines/Bob Hanger intersection improvements
  • Eastbound turn lanes from Huffines/Bob Hanger to Crystal Lake/Provinces
  • Sidewalks, striping of lanes, signage and street illumination and signal at Crystal Lake

 

AREA 3 (Marine Creek to Marine Creek Pkwy. Roundabout): 

All travel lane pavement is complete. Opening to traffic is pending completion of the intersection at Crystal Lake and the

roundabout western island as well as striping. Completion is anticipated by November 2026. Remaining work to be

completed:

  • Sidewalks, handicap ramps & retaining walls at Bay Lake
  • Striping of lanes, signage and street illumination
