Street & Transportation Improvements

This joint project by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Fort Worth aims to enhance pedestrian safety and beautify the corridor to attract new businesses.

Planned improvements include widening certain roadway sections from two to three lanes and reconstructing the pavement from asphalt to concrete.

Project highlights include:

  • Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements
  • Street lighting
  • Traffic signal upgrades

This project is in Council Districts 3 & 6.

 

June 2026 Project Status

  • The 90% design submittal is scheduled for July 2026.
  • Thanks to community support, we received approval from Development Services to make minor adjustments to the sidewalk placement along Horne Street, as shown in the Horne Street Sidewalk Placement attachment.

A recent presentation was shared at the neighborhood association meeting.
