In May, the Office of the Police Oversight Monitor (OPOM) was pleased to introduce Bread & Salt, a series of community dialogue events designed to cultivate meaningful, impactful, thought-provoking conversations about safety. Our hope for this event was simple: to create a space where people could come together, share honestly, listen intentionally, and engage with one another across different perspectives. As we continue OPOM's vision of building trust, strengthening accountability, and creating intentional spaces for community dialogue and engagement in now the 10th largest city in the United States, we truly hope residents will continue supporting by showing up for these lasting discussions.
OPOM community office hours continue throughout the city, as a means of meeting community members where they are. Imagine stopping by the office to chat with staff, file a police complaint and/or commendation, or simply gather more information about the department; well, that's an accurate depiction of what happens during community office hours. The team is available to listen, connect, and offer community support. Community office hours occur twice per month at different community locations.
On a quarterly basis, OPOM's Independent Police Monitor hosts coffee chat sessions around Fort Worth. We invite community members to join us for these relaxed gatherings to discuss police oversight and hear about your experiences. Oversight Over Coffee is all about connecting with YOU!
