Celebrating Volunteers: Meet the People Powering Our Shelter
At Fort Worth Animal Care & Control, our volunteers are the heartbeat behind everything we do.
From early-morning dog walks to weekend adoption events, their dedication, compassion, and energy make it possible for thousands of pets to find second chances and forever homes.

Volunteer Impact
We’re proud to spotlight some of the amazing individuals, businesses, and groups who have stepped up in extraordinary ways to support Fort Worth’s animals.
In 2024, volunteers spent more than 9,453 hours making a difference for our shelter animals.

You Can Help, Too
There’s more than one way to make a difference. Whether you're an animal lover, a student, part of a local business, or just looking to give back, your time and talent can change lives.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Animal Care: Walk dogs, clean kennels, prep enrichment toys.
- Public Education: Teach responsible pet ownership.
- Community Outreach: Assist at events and connect with the public.
- Animal Networking: Photograph pets or help promote them on social media.
- Fort Woof Run Club: Run or walk adoptable dogs along Trinity Trails.
No matter how you help, you’ll be doing more than volunteering, you’ll be giving hope.
