Junked Vehicles on Private Property
Abandoned or junked vehicles on private property in Fort Worth are more than just an eyesore—they pose safety risks and are considered a public nuisance.
These vehicles may be towed and destroyed following a formal hearing process. Owners could also face fines of up to $200.
A vehicle is considered junked when:
- It doesn’t have a lawfully attached, unexpired registration sticker and license plate.
- It’s wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled.
- It’s on private property and has not worked for over 20 consecutive days.
- It’s visible from a property different from the one where it’s located.
Fines can be as high as $200 and the vehicle may be towed.
