On Wednesday, Aug. 17 – “817 Day” – the Fort Worth Public Library will host a free concert featuring four Fort Worth-based musical acts at the Will Rogers Auditorium, 3401 Lancaster Ave.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show is set to start at 7 p.m., with Cut Throat Finches, Averi Burk, Bencjones and GR4NT slated to hit the stage. Seating is on a first-come basis.

All four are featured musicians on the Library’s free music-streaming platform, Amplify 817. The service pays musicians up front to showcase their music for three years and also offers promotional and career development support. The initiative is a collaboration with Hear Fort Worth, supported by the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation.

“We are so excited to present this concert for the community,” said Rita Alfaro, the Library’s music librarian. “These musicians represent a diverse mix of the sounds of the city. The music scene continues to grow and thrive in Fort Worth, and we are so happy to be a small part of it.”

Those who attend the 817 Day concert have the chance to buy an exclusive T-shirt from Fort Worth’s own Printed threads. The company will be printing the shirts on-site during the event. Proceeds will benefit the Fort Worth Public Library’s Amplify 817 fund.

Additionally, artists selected by Art Tooth will be on site sharing unique works available for purchase.

Tickets for the free show must be reserved online prior to the showcase. Parking at Will Rogers Auditorium is $15 per vehicle. Alternate transportation to the venue is available via Trinity Metro’s DASH buses that run through Sundance Square, West 7th and the Cultural District. Ride a Dash bus for $3-day pass and use Bus Stop 460 at Lancaster and Van Cliburn, across from the auditorium.
