Who We Are

The City of Fort Worth’s Community Action Partners (CAP) program serves as the Community Action Agency for Tarrant County and provides comprehensive services to economically disadvantaged individuals, families and older adults. CAP receives Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds and Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) funds and is a division of the Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department.

Get Help

Currently, we have reached the maximum capacity for accepting applications for rental assistance. If you need immediate assistance, please contact 211 for other resources. 

For veterans, we have assistance available for utilities, rent and mortgage for Tarrant County veterans, active military and surviving spouses.  Also, we have assistance with qualified home repairs for veterans and surviving spouses residing in Fort Worth. 

To receive CAP services, you must apply either online or at an in-person application event.

Due to very high demand, call volume may exceed our ability to answer every call immediately. We do our best to assist callers, but you may experience longer wait times. How to Apply

Connects residents with social services, such as utility bill payment assistance, senior and youth resources, financial empowerment and employment resources.

CAP Advisory Council

The Community Action Partners shall advise and assist City Council in setting priorities and involving low-income citizens in the decision-making processes for program projects initiated with funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA).

Veteran Services

We honor our veterans by providing essential support, including resources, job training and housing to help them transition to civilian life and enhance their well-being.
