Who We Are

The City of Fort Worth’s Community Action Partners (CAP) program serves as the Community Action Agency for Tarrant County and provides comprehensive services to economically disadvantaged individuals, families and older adults. CAP receives Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds and Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) funds and is a division of the Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department.

You must apply either online or at an in-person application event.

Apply Online

The next opening date is Friday, April 17, at 9 a.m.
The CAP online application opens at 9 a.m. every other Friday through September.

Community Action Partners (CAP) hosts in‑person application events throughout the year. Appointments are required for these events and CAP offices do not take walk‑in applications. New events will be added here as they are scheduled.

Due to very high demand, call volume may exceed our ability to answer every call immediately. We do our best to assist callers, but you may experience longer wait times. This website is the best source for the most current and accurate application information.

How to Apply

Connects residents with social services, such as utility bill payment assistance, senior and youth resources, financial empowerment and employment resources.

EnCAP Case Management

Educational and job training, financial empowerment, career skills.

CAP Advisory Council

The Community Action Partners shall advise and assist City Council in setting priorities and involving low-income citizens in the decision-making processes for program projects initiated with funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA).

Veteran Services

We honor our veterans by providing essential support, including resources, job training and housing to help them transition to civilian life and enhance their well-being.
