Fun facts

The central city Fairmount-Southside neighborhood was originally developed with a density that precluded the preservation of open spaces. Following World War II, the neighborhood entered a period of decline that included the neglect and demolition of houses. In the 1980s, a revitalization movement spurred the rejuvenation of many houses. To complement the rebirth, the city acquired six contiguous lots in 1990 comprising .68 acres for the creation of a park to serve area residents.
